Pinehurst #2 has also hosted what has to be the most prestigious amateur tournament outside of the U.S. Amateur, the North and South Championship. Some of the greatest names in the sport have won this tournament on their way to stardom as professionals. Once a professional tournament, it was Ben Hogan’s first win.
