Description

Harold Hilton (1869-1942) won the British Open Championship in 1892 (only the second amateur to do so), he won it again in 1897; he was a four-time British Amateur Champion between 1900 and 1913. Hilton also won the Irish Open Amateur Championship in 1897,1900, ’01, and ’02. In 1911 Harold Hilton became the first man to win both the United States and British Amateur Championships in the same year. Harold Hilton was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1978.
